Abstract

The RAAF has had a permanent presence in Penang since the 1950’s with aircraft operating out of what is now RMAF Butterworth regularly for over 60 years. With a vibrant community of over 4,000 Australians and their families at its peak, a radio station and many squadrons of aircraft flying locally, the base certainly left its mark in the minds of many Penangites.

The Speakers:RAAF officers Air Vice Marshal William Henman and Wing Commander Paul Webb will reflect on the history of the RAAF in Penang.
